JAWS IV is a fact when the shark again eats his competition for diner on his way to the top of the Hautecam to claim his fourth stage victory of this Tour. 8 km below the summit Horner (who had attacked from the group of favourites) is caught and not much later the last struggling escapist Nieve is swallowed as a sweet desert. Nibali wants to prove that he and he only is the best rider this edition of the Tour. Would he have won if Froome and Contador were still in the race? We will never know, What we do know is that Valverde had a bad day and that Nibali now has a lead of over 7 minutes on the new number two, Pinot. This brings back memories of that other man-eating creature from the past, the Cannibal Eddie Merckx.

The 101st Tour de France will undergo its start in the northern-English county of Yorkshire, at first sight featuring some sprint stages. Looks can deceive when the weather conditions don't look too promising for the opening weekend of the Tour. The lovely Yorkshire valleys can suddenly change into tricky grey roads where an accident is around every corner. Op top of that, stage two looks to be too difficult for the real sprinters and when the GC-men kick some arse in the final, we might nog even see the likes of Sagan in the first ten finishers. London offers the well known Royal finale in front of Buckingham Palace, sure enough that will end up in a sprint.
